Eastside’s Elementary Ministry exists to:
  • Partner with parents to present the Bible to elementary children so that a child when ready will accept Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior.
  • Provide continued opportunities for spiritual growth through worship, relevant Bible study and application, service projects and fellowship.
  • To provide leadership training and opportunities for upper elementary students.
  • To provide a safe, secure and creative environment.
  • To reach out to the surrounding community with programs that introduce our neighbors to Jesus Christ.

Kids’ Kompass: Worship just for kids

Every Sunday, 9:30 and 11:00 AM

Kids’ Kompass is the worship portion of our elementary programming. This is a fast paced service including music, drama, puppets, offering, games, and observance of the Lord’s Supper.

Children receive “power bucks” for bringing their Bible, bringing a visitor, and bringing back their weekly devotions. Power bucks can be spent at the end of worship in our Kids’ Kompass Store. For more information about Kids’ Kompass, please pick up a copy of “How to Help Your Child Get The Most Out of Kids’ Kompass” at the adult welcome center or click title above to download a pdf file.

Our Kids’ Kompass Krew is a group of fourth and fifth graders who serve by helping with greeting, audiovisual, drama, and other aspects of our worship time. Applications are accepted for the Krew in May.

Bible Classes

Bible classes provide an opportunity for elementary children to study the Bible. Through a series of hands-on activities students will learn Bible stories, how to use the Bible, and life applications. Bible classes are offered during the 11:00 service for children whose parents stay for Adult Bible Fellowship. For the location of your child’s Bible Class, please check at the Elementary Registration Desk. Children who stay for both hours of programming will be taken to their second hour class.

GPS Connected: GPS Kids

Elementary students grades K-5 meet together once a month, September through May, during the adult Wednesday night GPS Connected worship service for GPS Kids.

Students participate in a hands on Bible lesson, small group time and a service project.”

Vistors

Visitors will be asked to fill out a short registration form. They will be given a visitor ID tag and their child will have a matching one. If parents are needed during the service, the number on your child’s ID will flash up on the screen. If you decide to attend Eastside regularly, and would like your child to have a permanent ID, simply fill out the permanent registration form.

Registration

The safety of our elementary children is first and foremost. We ask that all visitors register their children each week and receive an elementary visitor tag. In the event that we need to contact the parents, the number will appear on the screen in the sanctuary, or if the parents are in Adult Bible Fellowship Class, we will call the contact person and they will notify the parents.

If you plan on attending regularly, you are invited to fill out an Elementary Registration form available at the Elementary Registration Desk and your family will be assigned a permanent ID. Your permanent ID will be printed on your child’s Kids’ Kompass passport and on the attendance chart for Bible classes.

Creative Camp

Creative Camp is Eastside’s version of Vacation Bible School for children K - 5th Grades.  It is an opportunity for children to select an interest group, such as science, weaving, cooking, outdoor sport, etc., in which they participate each evening.  In addition, they participate in high energy worship, visit the mission room, play Frisbee golf, and have a snack.
