Senior Minister - Dave Hastings

Education
Lincoln Christian College. Graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry/Preaching.

Favorite Verse
John 10:10; “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

My Dream For Eastside
First of all, that Jesus becomes Lord of every single aspect of our lives.
Secondly, that we develop meaningful relationships with people in the church in order to encourage, build up, and assist each other as we live our lives.
Thirdly, that we live our lives as examples to the non-Christian world and actively seek to draw them to our Lord and his church.

My Perfect Day
I would wake up before everyone else in the house and have a few minutes of peace with God. Then my three sons and I would play 18 holes of golf on a beautiful course. I would shoot par and all three boys would beat me by one stroke. Then the boys would go their own way and Susan and I would meet for lunch and spend the afternoon shopping at various malls because I have a wad of cash in my pocket. That evening our entire family would eat dinner together, laugh in conversation, watch a funny movie, and pray before bedtime. And oh yes, just before bedtime, one of the boys would volunteer to take the dog out for a walk so I don’t have to!

Romans 8:31; “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Romans 8:37; “…we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Philippians 4:13; “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

My Dream For Eastside
To see each member be involved in reaching…worshipping, fellowshipping, growing, and serving.

My Perfect Day

Student Minister – David Parkerson

Education
2004 graduate of Cincinnati Bible College with a BS in Biblical Studies and an emphasis in Children’s Ministry.

Favorite Verse
Psalm 27; (coming from David)

My Dream For Eastside
I want to see Eastside be a true light in Southern Indiana because people see that we are a church of action. I would love to see our church continue to grow and reach people who do not know Jesus. When people talk about Eastside, I want them to talk about how much we care for the community, not how good our services are.

My Perfect Day
My perfect day would be to wake up in Ireland one morning. I would spend the first part of the day playing golf with my dad and some friends. After I am finished with golf I would take my wife out to eat and spend the rest of the day exploring Ireland with her.

Discipleship Minister – Tom MayTom May

Education
1978 graduate of Cincinnati Christian University with a BA in Bible, Ministry and Communication. 1986 awarded Master of Arts Degreein New Testament and the Master of Divinity Degree in New Testament, Education and Church Growth, from Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

Favorite Verse
From a very practical standpoint, three verses have always stood out to me as important: Mordecai's words to Esther as she is about to address the king, "And who knows but that you have come to this position for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14b
The second is the reply of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to King Nebuchadnezzar, "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods." Daniel 3:17-18
Finally, from the pen of Peter in his second epistle, the apostle reminds us that, "God has given us very great and precious promises so that through them we can come and share the very being of God." II Peter 1:4

My Dream For Eastside
My dream for Eastside pictures a congregation permeated by a network of believers who are connected to one another in small groups where their love for each other sets them apart from the world around them; a network of believers who ache inside to share the message of Jesus with their friends and family who do not believe; a network of believers who are driven to mentor and influence others to become "disciple-makers".

My Perfect Day
My perfect day begins early in the morning as the sun is barely beginning to pierce the line of the horizon. My family and I stroll leisurely along a pristine white beach, hearing the ocean rumble to the shore, tasting the salt in the air, watching for God's fingerprints on earth's canvas. About lunch time we pause at an ocean side cafe for a meal while listening to a Jimmy Buffett-esque band, playing songs that make you smile, on steel drums. Oh...and remember...a day with the Lord is like a thousand years.

Worship Minister – Ken SmithKen Smith

Education
2003 graduate with distinction of Indiana University Southeast. Bachelor's in General Studies.

Favorite Verse
Prayer of Jabez: I Chronicles 4:10 - "Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, 'O, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.' And God granted his request."

Ecclesiastes 3:11 - "God has made everything beautiful in it's time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

The Greatest Commandment: Matthew 22:37-40 - "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

My Dream For Eastside
That we will become passionate about seeking and reaching the lost in our community and all over the world. That we will strengthen, challenge and grow believers to step out on faith. And that God will bless us abundantly as we remain fixed on Him in joyful anticipation.

My Perfect Day
It would include: sleeping in, a killer breakfast, working out, a sunny beach, brunch, video games, music, lunch at Mexico Lindo in Manhattan, a fantasy football draft, watching football, a game at Yankee Stadium, New York style pizza, catching a movie with my wife, laughing out loud with her, buying a new guitar, putting on an awesome concert, dinner & dessert at Stoney River, a massage and worshiping with my entire family at Eastside. For a start...
